Chinrest for Viola|Guarneri Model We have perfected the chinrest models in exchange with musicians in such a way that they nestle comfortably in the neck and chin area and do not disturb. Our idea for a good fit: • all chinrest models are reinforced with a sleeve system. Due to the metal sleeve, the chin rest remains in its original position when tightened and does not go upwards • the instrument lies securely and firmly on the body. Endbutton Violin|Viola BERDANI designs end buttons for string instruments, which are simple and traditional in their form. They are well-formed and turned as short as possible so that it is pleasant for the musician and he feels only a minimal feeling of pressure at the neck. In addition, the button is half or fully recessed to prevent clothing from getting caught. The surface is finely sanded and polished with linseed oil. We succeeded. The result is Berdani's Dark Paper, a composite of recycled paper and resin. Production: To produce the high-quality dark paper, recycled paper is impregnated with a warm resin, layered by hand and pressed under high pressure. Look: The finished product looks like the finest ebony. It has a black colour throughout and the same hardness and density as ebony. Berdani's Dark Paper is also heat and dirt repellent and resistant to moisture and sweat. Since the material is made from purely natural components, it is 100% ecologically degradable. Berdani's Dark Paper is also non-toxic and does not shrink or swell. Processing / Use: The composite can be processed immediately and without long storage times. The material can be processed with conventional violin making tools; it can be planed, filed and sanded. Boxwood light and dark We have developed a process to color the box tree in a natural way. Our boxwood is completely stained without stains or alkalis, such as saltpetre or ammonia. Only pure linseed oil and canauba wax is used for surface treatment. The violin maker only has to oil the pegs, chinrests and tailpieces, no pickling or caustic solutions are necessary. We offer the boxwood in two colours. Boxwood light looks like conventionally dyed boxwood. Dark boxwood can serve as a substitute for rosewood. Ebony The ebony has been carefully matured for years and is sorted by weight and sound.
