Cello Tailpiece Oracle

Product information "Cello Tailpiece Oracle"

Cello Tailpiece Oracle

Inspired by an idea from Ori Epstein (Busch Trio)

The Cello Tailpiece Oracle combines innovative acoustic design with the finest traditional craftsmanship. Developed from an idea by cellist Ori Epstein (Busch Trio), this handcrafted cello tailpiece opens a new tonal dimension – open, round, and full of warmth.

Unlike conventional tailpieces, in this model the string is threaded from below. This means there is no sharp bend, and the string runs freely and directly to the bridge. This construction greatly enhances vibration transmission: the sound becomes round and warm, free from nasal overtones. The cello opens up, gains projection, and produces a freely resonating, vibrant tone.

A glued ebony reinforcement ring on the underside provides stability and secure string support. The holes follow the natural curve of the bridge with a total spacing of 44 mm:

  • A string: 1.5 mm

  • D and G strings: 2.0 mm

  • C string: 2.5 mm

A fine detail is the engraved ornament on the upper surface – inspired by the world-famous Baltic Guarneri del Gesù. This carving unites aesthetics, history, and tonal philosophy in a unique way.

The Oracle Tailpiece is crafted with an especially thin profile, which enhances vibration and gives the instrument an even more open and present sound.

Available in lengths 210 mm, 220 mm, 230 mm, and 240 mm – suitable for various cello sizes and tonal preferences.

Each Oracle tailpiece is individually handmade – a piece of authentic cello craftsmanship that brings the tonal soul of your instrument to life.
